Dear Community,
The idea that Earth is a living organism — a concept known as the Gaia Hypothesis — proposes that our planet functions as one vast, self-regulating system.
While Earth may not be “alive” in the traditional sense, its life forms and natural systems are deeply interconnected. Together, they create a dynamic, responsive, and constantly evolving whole.
I think of organizations in much the same way. They are living systems — composed of people, ideas, structures, and shared visions — that are constantly changing, always communicating, and continually seeking balance.
So when I design an experience for an organization — a retreat, team day, or offsite — I’m not just creating an agenda. I’m asking:
What does the whole need right now?
What is this system — this collection of people and histories and dreams — asking for in this moment?
My role is to identify the moment, then meet it.
Too often, teams treat gatherings as tasks to check off a list — not opportunities to pause, reflect, and respond to what the ecosystem actually needs.
When that happens, trust erodes. Miscommunication festers. Anxiety spreads.
Because what’s honestly asking for attention never gets addressed.
We also experience this outside of our organizations, in our daily lives.
This weekend, I caught up with a few of my favorite people. We laughed, we vented, and we all realized we’ve been moving fast. Doing good work, but ignoring what our bodies and spirits need: -
A pause. A breath. A moment to check in.
When we forget to meet our own moments, exhaustion and anxiety quietly take root.
We’re in the thick of fall — a season of reflection, transition, and letting go. Nature is reminding us what it means to release what no longer serves, to make space for what’s next.
Here are a few reflection prompts to help you pause and meet your own moments:
🍂 What am I ready to let go of?
🍁 What transitions am I currently experiencing?
🕯️ What would it look like to meet this current moment for myself — entirely, honestly, and with care?
This season, may you remember:
You are part of a living system — and it’s okay to rest, recalibrate, and renew. These sessions create space for pause, reflection, and realignment — so the ecosystem can breathe again.
