Hey {{first_name|there}},
Most of us were never taught how to do this.
We are put on this floating rock of a planet and plopped into collectives, communities, classrooms, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Rarely are we given real support for engaging meaningfully with one another. Even when we choose our company, we are rarely supported in how to disagree, how to repair, or how to stay connected when things get hard.
So we improvise. We go quiet, or we go sharp. Then we call it our personality, when it is closer to a habit we picked up young and never examined.
I created Conflict Bravery™ because of this. It is rooted in an ancestral, indigenous belief that if we are going to be well, we must know how to be with each other in our hardest moments: thoughtfully, intentionally, with accountability and deep, radical care.
Here is my news: the Conflict Bravery™ Masterclass is back this summer, for its third year. It is the work I do inside organizations, made available to anyone who wants it.
It is a live, three-week practice space. Three Thursday evenings: August 6, 13, and 20. We meet tension with care, clarity, and courage, and then we practice.
It is for people who lead and people who love, which means it is probably for you. Managers, organizers, founders, practitioners, and anyone who keeps landing in the same hard conversation and wants a different way through it.
You are hearing this before anyone else. Subscribers get the early-bird rate of $99 before it opens to the public, and that rate holds through July 23.
Before it begins, I want you to know where you currently stand.
Start with your conflict style
The Conflict Style Quiz is the same assessment I use with Conflict Bravery™ clients: individuals, teams, and organizations across the country. It takes about three minutes.
You will learn your go-to style, the good in it, the challenging, and where you can lean further into Conflict Bravery™ from exactly where you already are.
When you have your results, sit with them. Then bring them to your people, your partner, your friends, your colleagues and comrades, your neighbors, whoever you intend to be in right relationship with.
Ask each other:
How does it feel to see your style named this plainly?
What surprised you?
How could knowing each other's style change how we show up next time?
Then make some commitments to one another about the next time conflict enters the room.
Awareness creates choice. And choice creates the possibility for a new way of being with ourselves and each other.
My hope is that the quiz gives you language for things you have felt but have not known how to name, and that it helps you meet yourself with more compassion, and meet the people you love and work alongside with more curiosity.
Take good care of yourself. Take good care of the people around you.
With love,
Altagracia
P.S. The early-bird rate of $99 is yours through July 23. After that, the Masterclass is $149.99. If you have questions or reflections, reply to this message. I read them all. 🌻
